  • 1/3 cup bicarbonate soda

  • 3 drops chamomile essential oil
  • 3 drops jasmine essential oil
  • 2 drops ylang ylang essential oil
  • 2 drops patchouli essential oil
  • optional: a sprinkle of rose, chamomile, jasmine or lavender flowers

A Body Oil for Love

Prepare this body oil for safekeeping in your medicine cabinet for when you need it most.

This recipe incorporates the gentle aromas of rose, lavender and clary sage, alongside grounding and stabilising frankincense.

According to a 2003 study, clary sage, lavender and frankincense essential oils significantly reduced the anxiety levels of participants (Hur MH, Park MH., 2003). Additionally, rose essential oil contains compounds which are known as anti-anxiety agents (Kheirkhah M. et al., 2014).

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml sweet almond oil
  • 4 drops rose essential oil
  • 2 drops clary sage essential oil
  • 2 drops frankincense essential oil
  • 4 drops lavender essential oil

directions: blend the ingredients in a 60 ml dropper bottle, label and store in a cool place.

To harness this oil for anxiety relief, begin by massaging droplets onto the crown of your head.

Breathe in the aromas as you massage your forehead and temples, going down to your neck and shoulders, gently and slowly.

Massage towards the direction of your heart, breathing deeply along the way.
