Summer is here.
Nails get visible.
Well, your toe nails. They are covered up a lot.
Its something about the cold climates and also something very urban.
Feet are locked away.
Shoes are fashion and status, you have to use shoes when you go to work, walk on the steets, go running, ita soemthing about modern life that has negative side effects.
Fungus for example.
Feet sweat. Thats what most do.
And they are trapped in socks and shoes.
This creates a wet and warm environment.
Ideal for fungus and smelly feet. The smelly part is easy to solve.
Use natural fiber socks and change frequently. There are powders you can by or you do your own with cornstarch, baking powder and essential oils.
The fungus part is a little more complex and more important to be solved.
There are fungus that live between your toes, round ones that colonize your skin and the worst ones, toe nail fungus.
The last ones are the hardest to cure because the nail has to grow to replace completely the infected nail.
There are several essential oils you can use to treat the diggerent fungi.
To apply them always use them diluted in carrier oil.
Very suitable oils because their antibacterial properties are
- Coconut oil
- Olive oil
- Almond oil
- Apricot kernel oil
- Grapeseed oil
Once you choose your carrier oil it is important to analyse your fungus.
It depends on how big, new old and uncomfortable you are.
Also if it is only a small area of skin or if the nails are involved.
If you want to treat a particular fungus right away use a high concentration of essential oils.
About 1 drop of essential oil to 4 drops of carrier oil.
If you want to only prevent a fungus fro returning use 10 to 12 drops of essential oil per tablespoon of carrier oil.
Last but not least, the essential oils that work to fight fungus
- Eucalyptus essential oil
- Peppermint essential oil
- Tea tree essential oil
- Cinnamon essential oil
- Lemongrass essential oil
- Lavender essential oil
- Oregano essential oil
- Rosemary essential oil
After you choose your carrier oil and essential oils mix them together and follow this steps.
- Clean your feet, toes, and toenails with soap and water.
- Dry thoroughly with a soft towel.
- Apply a drop or two of the oil blend onto the infected nail or skin
- Let the oil soak in for about 10 minutes.
- Scrub the nail with a soft toothbrush.
- Repeat daily until the infected nail has been replaced with a new, healthy one. This will take months. Fungus between the toes on the skin go away much easier.
