Background

Citrus aurantium var. amara, also known as Seville orange, Bitter orange, or Bigarade orange, is a fragrant evergreen tree native to India and nearby regions. It grows between 3–9 metres in height and bears glossy leaves, white aromatic flowers, and dark green fruits that turn yellow upon ripening. In ancient Chinese tradition, the white blossoms symbolised purity and love and were used in weddings. The name "Neroli" traces back to 17th-century Italy, where Princess Marie-Anne de la Trémoille of Nerola popularised the use of Neroli Essential Oil in perfumes and bathing rituals. Today, Organic Neroli Essential Oil is still valued for its soothing, romantic, and therapeutic effects.

General Information

Ecodrop’s Organic Neroli Essential Oil 10ml is derived through low-pressure steam distillation of hand-harvested Bitter orange blossoms in April and May. To ensure maximum purity, the blossoms are collected on warm mornings when freshly opened and immediately processed. The extraction is done under strict guidelines to preserve the delicate floral aroma. It takes around 10 kg of blossoms to produce just 10 ml of Ecodrop’s highly concentrated Neroli Essential Oil, making it one of the most precious essential oils available.

High quality essential oils
I purchased two oils from this brand/company, the Neroli and the Rose and both are amazing. I recommend these oils as they are also organic.

Q. What is neroli essential oil good for?

Neroli Essential Oil is prized for its ability to improve skin hydration, calm the nerves, enhance mood, and support restful sleep. It also treats scalp issues, cracked heels, and offers pain relief during massage. It can even be used as a natural household cleaner thanks to its antibacterial properties.

Q. Who should not use neroli essential oil?

Avoid using Organic Neroli Essential Oil 10ml during pregnancy or while breastfeeding without professional advice. People with very sensitive skin should perform a patch test before topical use. It must always be diluted before applying directly to the skin.

Q. Is neroli essential oil the same as bergamot?

No, Neroli Essential Oil and bergamot oil come from different parts of different citrus plants. Neroli is extracted from the blossoms of the Bitter orange tree, while bergamot comes from the rind of the bergamot orange fruit. Both have citrus notes, but neroli is more floral and sweet.

Q. Can neroli essential oil be applied directly to skin?

Organic Neroli Essential Oil should always be diluted with a carrier oil before skin application. Though gentle and non-photosensitive, it’s still a concentrated extract and may cause irritation if applied undiluted.
