Background

Pogostemon cablin, commonly known as Patchouli, is a bushy shrub from the Lamiaceae (mint) family, found predominantly in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean. These leaves are handpicked at peak pigment hours—between sunrise and sunset—to ensure the highest quality oil. After harvest, the leaves undergo a brief fermentation period in shade before being steam distilled. Organic Patchouli oil 10ml

I was a little disappointed this time, to be honest. There seems to be some inconsistency in quality, but then, it might be that a bad batch occurs occasionally. The Patchouli oil I received looked pale, felt "thinner" and the scent disappears within a couple of hours. I have previously purchased Patchouli organic oil from the company on a few occasions, (Peppermint oil too, which was of an outstanding quality), and, with the exception of one purchase, (50 ml bottle of organic Patchouli oil a year or two ago, which, again, was "thin", pale and very low in scent strength), the oils were good, having slightly thicker, darker consistency and colour, and with a hint of scent being still noticeable some 12 hours after application. The company is first class in communicating order progress, and provides fast delivery of well packaged items.

I’ve been buying various oils recently and this Patchouli is great value. Deep rooted aroma with a nice consistency. Used it in some soaps and air freshener, general blend diffusing. Smells nice and basey.
