Background
Zingiber officinale or ginger is a herbaceous perennial plant belonging to turmeric and cardamom family. Ginger plant is native to Asia but is now spread all over the world through the spice trade. The plant has thickened fleshy rhizomes up to 2 centimetres thick, growing horizontally underground with a cluster of dark green erect leafy pseudostems up to 1-1.5 metres tall. Pale yellow to purple flowers grow directly from the rhizomes on separate buds. These rhizomes, called ginger root, are one of the most widely used spices in the world for food flavouring and therapeutic purposes.
General Information
Ecodrop’s Ginger root essential oil is derived from high-quality ginger rhizomes organically grown in the tropical lands of India, certified organic by the UK Soil Association. Rhizomes are harvested during the summer season when they are completely dried to ensure high oil concentration. Unpeeled rhizomes are then grounded into powder and loaded into the steam distillery for oil extraction, ensuring quality norms.

Lovely oil, excellent quality
Love this oil, it’s high with a beautiful strong fragrance which I can’t wait to blend with other essential oils to make a perfume oil. This is the nicest ginger essential oil I’ve tried, and the scent lasts all day.
