Background

Cinnamon Bark oil is derived from the small evergreen tree recognised as Cinnamomum Zeylanicum, belonging to the Lauraceae family. Also known as True Cinnamon Tree, Ceylon cinnamon tree, and Dalchini, the tree is native to Sri Lanka and South India. Cinnamon tree can grow up to 10-15 metres in height with 7-18 centimetres long dark green ovate-oblong leaves. Flowers are arranged in panicle inflorescence having a greenish colour with a distinct odour, with purple fruit containing a single seed.

General Information

Ecodrop’s Organic Cinnamon bark essential oil is produced from the best yielding cinnamon plantations, organically grown in the silica-rich sandy soil of India, certified organic by the UK Soil Association. For the highest quality oil, only mature cinnamon plants (at least 2-3 years old) are selected, and their stem is cut down. The outer bark is stripped and discarded, and the inner wet bark is peeled into metre-long sheets and left to dry. Once dried, they naturally fold up into rolls, which are further cut into small pieces. These are then carried to the distillery, where extraction of the essential oil takes place by the CO2 method. Dry CO2 is passed through the rolls, which mixes with the oil present in the bark. This mixed oil and CO2 are then dissolved in ethanol. Pure cinnamon essential oil is then separated from the mixture by partial distillation.

Beautiful warm and deep cinnamon fragrance.I use this oil as part of an immunity strengthening blend in my diffuser. It may be a coincidence but, so fsr, I haven’t suffered from any of the many viruses going around. My house smells amazing, too!

    Good quality and useful
Lovely scent, rare to find cinnamon bark oil. I bought it for anti viral/ bacterial qualities as part of home made sanitiser, but use it in oil burner and would add to body lotions etc.

    Loved it!
Bought this to make a lip plumping mix. It’s brilliant! I couldn’t help but use some of it for aromatherapy and the scent is very long-lived and pleasant. The customer service have been amazing too and the company was personally supervising that the order goes as smooth as possible. Certainly will re-order next time!
