Honestly made
Honestly Made
We think people should know what they are bringing into their homes.
Our home fragrance range is vegan, and our fragrance blends are created using natural isolates and carefully selected aromatic materials.
Natural isolates are individual fragrance materials from naturally derived sources, about as close as you can get to an essential oil, since pure essential oil evaporates too quickly to last. It's a natural, not harmful way to build a complete fragrance.
We do not cover our products in vague claims or pretend fragrance needs to be complicated. We choose ingredients carefully, make fragrances we genuinely enjoy and tell you clearly what is inside.
Nothing here is tested on animals, and nothing contains animal-derived ingredients.

Why Ecodrop
Why Choose Ecodrop?
Ecodrop started with essential oils and aromatic ingredients, so scent has always been a big part of what we do. Our home fragrance collection grew naturally from that experience.
We wanted to create reed diffusers and scented candles that smell considered rather than overpowering, with enough choice for different rooms, seasons and moods.
All of our home fragrance products are vegan. Our reed diffusers are available in both 100ml and 250ml sizes, and diffuser refills let you reuse the original glass bottle. Our candles use a natural soy wax blend, cotton wicks and reusable amber glass jars.
Most importantly, we make fragrances that we would actually want to use in our own homes.

Home Fragrance FAQs
Anything not covered here, our team answers personally.

Is Ecodrop home fragrance essential oil or fragrance oil?
Our reed diffusers and diffuser refills use natural isolates and fragrance oil, not essential oil. Pure essential oils evaporate quickly, so a diffuser made purely from essential oil would lose its scent fast and unevenly, with little left to carry it through to the last drop in the bottle.
Natural isolates are individual aromatic materials taken from naturally derived sources, about as close as you can get to an essential oil while still lasting the full life of the diffuser. It's a natural, not harmful way to keep your home fragranced for weeks rather than days. Our candles are scented with essential oils, and we label each product accurately rather than borrow one term for marketing across the whole range.
How long do reed diffusers last?
How long a reed diffuser lasts depends on the size of the bottle, the number of reeds used, room temperature, airflow and how often you turn the reeds.
A 100ml reed diffuser will generally be better suited to smaller rooms and everyday use, while a 250ml reed diffuser contains more fragrance and is a good choice for larger spaces or for a scent you want to enjoy for longer.
Using more reeds usually creates a stronger scent but will also use the diffuser liquid more quickly. Keeping your reed diffuser away from radiators, direct sunlight and open windows can help it last longer.
How do reed diffusers work?
Reed diffusers use absorbent reeds to draw fragrance from the bottle and gradually release it into the air.
The reeds sit inside the diffuser fragrance and naturally carry the liquid upwards. Once the reeds are saturated, the fragrance slowly evaporates from their surface and scents the surrounding room.
A reed diffuser does not need electricity, water or a flame, making it an easy way to keep your home fragranced throughout the day.
How can I make my reed diffuser smell stronger?
If you want a stronger reed diffuser scent, start by using more of the supplied reeds.
Ecodrop reed diffusers come with six natural reeds. Using all six will normally give a stronger scent throw than using only two or three.
You can also carefully turn the reeds occasionally to refresh the fragrance. Positioning the diffuser somewhere with gentle airflow, such as a hallway or living room, can also help the scent travel through the space.
If your diffuser has been open for a long time and the scent has become weak, replacing the old reeds with fresh ones can help.
How many reeds should I use in a reed diffuser?
The number of reeds you should use depends on how strong you want the fragrance to be.
For a stronger reed diffuser, use all six reeds supplied with your Ecodrop diffuser. For a softer background fragrance, try using three or four.
More reeds usually mean more fragrance is released into the room, but they will also make the diffuser liquid run down more quickly.
If you are not sure, start with fewer reeds and add more until the fragrance feels right for your room.
How often should I flip reed diffuser reeds?
You do not need to flip reed diffuser reeds every day.
If the fragrance starts to feel weaker, carefully turning the reeds can give the scent a temporary boost because the saturated ends are exposed to the air.
For most homes, turning the reeds occasionally is enough. Flipping them too frequently will increase evaporation and can make your reed diffuser run out faster.
Always turn the reeds carefully and wipe away any fragrance liquid that gets onto the bottle or surrounding surface.
Where is the best place to put a reed diffuser?
The best place for a reed diffuser is on a stable surface in an area with gentle natural airflow.
Hallways, entrances, living rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms can all work well because people moving through the space help circulate the fragrance.
Avoid placing your reed diffuser directly beside a radiator, heater, open window or in strong sunlight, as heat and airflow can make the fragrance evaporate more quickly.
Always keep the bottle somewhere secure and protect painted, polished or delicate surfaces from diffuser liquid.
Why can't I smell my reed diffuser anymore?
There are several reasons why you may stop noticing your reed diffuser.
The reeds may have become saturated or blocked over time, the diffuser may be too small for the room, or the fragrance may not be circulating well in that particular position.
You may also have become used to the scent. When we smell the same fragrance every day, our sense of smell can gradually become less aware of it.
Try leaving the room for a while and returning, turning the reeds, moving the diffuser to a different location or replacing old reeds with fresh ones.
For larger rooms, a 250ml reed diffuser or more than one fragrance source may work better than a small diffuser.
How can I make my reed diffuser last longer?
To make a reed diffuser last longer, use fewer reeds and keep it away from heat, direct sunlight and strong draughts.
Turning the reeds less frequently can also slow down how quickly the diffuser liquid evaporates.
There is always a balance between scent strength and longevity. A stronger reed diffuser generally uses the liquid more quickly, while using fewer reeds gives a softer scent that can last longer.
Can you refill a reed diffuser?
Yes. Reed diffuser refills are designed to let you reuse your existing diffuser bottle.
Ecodrop reed diffuser refills make it easy to top up your favourite home fragrance without replacing the glass bottle every time.
If you are using the same fragrance, clean the bottle if needed, add the refill and replace the reeds when they are no longer performing well.
If you are changing to a different scent, clean and completely dry the diffuser bottle first so the previous fragrance does not mix with the new one.
Should I use new reeds when I refill my reed diffuser?
It is usually a good idea to use fresh reeds when refilling a diffuser, especially if the old reeds have been in use for a long time.
Over time, diffuser reeds can become saturated and less effective at drawing fragrance through them.
Fresh reeds can improve scent throw and are particularly important when changing to a different fragrance, as old reeds may still hold the previous scent.
What size reed diffuser should I buy, 100ml or 250ml?
A 100ml reed diffuser is a good choice for bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and smaller rooms.
A 250ml reed diffuser contains more fragrance and is better suited to larger living spaces or anyone who wants a bigger supply of their favourite scent.
Room size is only one factor. Airflow, temperature, fragrance style and the number of reeds can all affect how strong a reed diffuser feels.
If you want a subtle fragrance in a smaller room, start with 100ml. For larger spaces or longer use, 250ml is usually the more practical option.
Are reed diffusers better than scented candles?
Reed diffusers and scented candles create home fragrance in different ways, so neither is always better.
A reed diffuser gives continuous fragrance throughout the day without electricity or a flame. It works well in hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces where you want a steady background scent.
A scented candle releases fragrance when it is burning and also gives you the warmth and atmosphere of a real flame.
Many people use both. A reed diffuser can provide everyday home fragrance, while a scented candle is ideal when you want to create a more atmospheric setting.
Which lasts longer, a reed diffuser or a scented candle?
A reed diffuser works continuously until the fragrance liquid is used, while a scented candle only releases its full fragrance while it is burning.
This means they cannot be compared purely by calendar time.
If you want continuous home fragrance with very little effort, a reed diffuser is usually the more practical option. If you prefer to control when fragrance is released, a scented candle gives you that flexibility.
The lifespan of both products depends on size and how they are used.
How can I make my house smell good all day?
A reed diffuser is one of the easiest ways to keep your home smelling good throughout the day because it continuously releases fragrance without needing to be switched on.
You can place different reed diffusers in key areas such as the hallway, living room, bedroom and bathroom, choosing scents that suit each space.
Fresh citrus and herbal fragrances can work well in kitchens and bathrooms, while floral, woody, amber and sandalwood fragrances are popular in bedrooms and living spaces.
A scented candle can then be used when you want a stronger or more atmospheric fragrance in the evening.
What is the best home fragrance for a living room?
The best home fragrance for a living room depends on the atmosphere you want to create.
Woody, amber, sandalwood, vanilla and resinous fragrances can make a living room feel warm and welcoming. Citrus, herbal and floral scents can give the room a lighter, fresher character.
For continuous living room fragrance, a reed diffuser is a simple option. A 250ml reed diffuser can be useful for larger living rooms and open-plan spaces.
Scented candles are also ideal for living rooms when you want fragrance together with the warmth of a flame.
What is the best home fragrance for a bedroom?
For bedrooms, softer and less overpowering fragrances are often preferred.
Lavender, gentle floral notes, sandalwood and softer woody fragrances can create a calm and comfortable atmosphere.
A reed diffuser works well in a bedroom because it provides continuous fragrance without needing a flame. Start with fewer reeds if you prefer a lighter scent and add more if needed.
Always keep home fragrance products securely positioned and follow the product safety instructions.
What is the best home fragrance for a bathroom?
Fresh, clean and uplifting fragrance profiles often work particularly well in bathrooms.
Citrus, eucalyptus, peppermint, herbal and floral scents can help give a bathroom a fresh atmosphere.
A 100ml reed diffuser is a practical choice for many bathrooms because it provides continuous fragrance without a flame or electricity.
Keep the diffuser on a stable surface and away from places where water could splash onto the bottle.
What are natural fragrance isolates?
Natural fragrance isolates are individual aromatic materials obtained from naturally derived sources.
A natural essential oil contains many different aromatic components. An isolate allows one particular aromatic material to be separated and used more precisely when creating a fragrance.
Ecodrop uses natural isolates and carefully selected aromatic ingredients as part of our approach to creating home fragrance.
We prefer to explain what we use rather than simply applying broad claims such as "100% natural" to a finished product.
Are Ecodrop reed diffusers vegan?
Yes. Ecodrop reed diffusers and reed diffuser refills are vegan and cruelty free.
Our home fragrance collection is created using carefully selected aromatic ingredients and natural isolates, with a focus on straightforward products and clear ingredient information.
Our reed diffusers are available in 100ml and 250ml sizes, with diffuser refills available so you can continue using the original glass bottle.
Are Ecodrop scented candles vegan?
Yes. Ecodrop scented candles are vegan and cruelty free.
Our candles are hand poured using a natural soy wax blend, a cotton wick and carefully selected essential oils.
They are supplied in reusable amber glass jars that can be cleaned and repurposed once the candle has finished.
What are soy wax candles?
Soy wax is a plant-derived wax made using soybean oil.
Ecodrop scented candles use a natural soy wax blend rather than conventional paraffin-only candle wax.
The wax, fragrance, wick, candle size and the way a candle is burned all influence how a scented candle performs.
Our candles also use cotton wicks and reusable amber glass jars.
Are soy wax candles better?
Different candle waxes have different characteristics, so it is better to look at the complete candle rather than assuming one wax is automatically superior.
At Ecodrop, we use a natural soy wax blend because it works well with the type of scented candles we want to make.
The quality of a candle also depends on the fragrance, wick, vessel and how the candle has been formulated and tested.
How should I burn a scented candle for the first time?
For the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across as much of the surface as possible while staying within the recommended maximum burn time for the candle.
This helps create a more even melt pool and can reduce the chance of the candle tunnelling down through the middle.
Always place a scented candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts and anything that could catch fire.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Why is my candle tunnelling?
Candle tunnelling happens when the wax melts down through the middle of the candle while unmelted wax remains around the outside.
This can happen when a candle is repeatedly burned for very short periods and the wax does not have enough time to melt evenly across the surface.
Allowing a good melt pool to develop during the first and subsequent burns can help the candle burn more evenly.
Always follow the individual candle care and maximum burn-time instructions.
Should I trim the wick before lighting a scented candle?
Yes. Keeping the candle wick properly trimmed helps maintain a steadier flame and can reduce excessive smoking and uneven burning.
Check the wick before each burn and remove any loose wick trimmings or debris from the wax.
Always follow the wick length and candle care instructions provided with the product.
What does scent throw mean?
Scent throw describes how far and how noticeably a fragrance can be detected around a room.
For scented candles, people often refer to cold throw and hot throw. Cold throw is the fragrance you notice when the candle is unlit, while hot throw describes the fragrance released while it is burning.
For reed diffusers, scent throw is influenced by the fragrance itself, number of reeds, room size, temperature, airflow and diffuser placement.
A stronger scent throw does not necessarily mean a better fragrance. Some people prefer a noticeable room fragrance, while others prefer something much more subtle.
Are reed diffusers safe around children and pets?
Reed diffusers do not use a flame, but the diffuser liquid still needs to be handled carefully.
Keep reed diffusers out of reach of children and pets and place them somewhere they cannot easily be knocked over.
Avoid allowing the fragrance liquid to come into contact with skin, furniture or polished surfaces, and never allow children or animals to ingest the liquid.
We do not describe home fragrances as universally "pet safe" because different fragrance materials and different animals can have different sensitivities. If you have concerns about a particular pet, check the product information and seek veterinary advice where appropriate.
