Background

Zingiber officinale or ginger is a herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the turmeric and cardamom family. The ginger plant is native to Asia but is now spread all over the world through the spice trade. The plant has thickened fleshy rhizomes up to 2 centimetres thick, growing horizontally underground with a cluster of dark green erect leafy pseudostems up to 1–1.5 metres tall. Pale yellow to purple flowers grow directly from the rhizomes on separate buds. These rhizomes, called ginger root, are one of the most widely used spices in the world for food flavouring and therapeutic purposes. Today, they’re also the primary source for producing Organic Ginger Essential Oil used in aromatherapy and topical applications.

General Information

Ecodrop’s Organic Ginger Essential Oil 10ml is derived from high-quality ginger rhizomes organically grown in the tropical lands of India, certified organic by the UK Soil Association. Rhizomes are harvested during the summer season when they are completely dried to ensure high oil concentration. Unpeeled rhizomes are then grounded into powder and loaded into the steam distillery for oil extraction, ensuring quality norms. This process ensures a premium-grade Ginger Essential Oil with potent aroma and therapeutic properties.
