Background

Citrus fruits have been used as natural remedies against various household problems since ancient times. One such fruit is lime. It is often confused with its cousin lemon. Lime essential oil shares many qualities with lemon oil and is often used in its place. Distilled Organic Lime Essential Oil is mainly used in the food and beverage industry as a flavouring agent and occasionally as a fragrance component. The fruit is the most valuable part of the lime plant. It grows well in alluvial soil and the state of Maharashtra boasts of having the best lime in India. Lime is popular in making pickles and as a citrus agent in foods.

General Information

Citrus aurantifolia, also known as Key lime, is a juicy, aromatic citrus fruit used for making Organic Lime Essential Oil 10ml. Key limes grow on small, shrubby flowering trees. The lime fruit ripens after the flowers of the tree have blossomed. Thought to be native to areas in Southeast Asia, the lime gained popularity in the Florida Keys. It was grown here as it was used as the main ingredient for the very famous Key lime pie, hence the name. After the Citrus aurantifolia is harvested, the peel is cold-pressed to produce a tart, refreshing Lime Essential Oil.

Q. What is Lime Essential Oil good for?

Organic Lime Essential Oil is known for its cleansing, purifying, and uplifting properties. It helps reduce airborne bacteria when diffused, improves skin clarity, supports scalp health, and leaves a refreshing citrus scent in the home. It’s also popular in natural cleaning products and for boosting emotional wellbeing through aromatherapy.

Q. What is Key Lime Essential Oil good for?

Key Lime Essential Oil, a variation of Organic Lime Essential Oil, is rich in antioxidants and known for its sharper, tart aroma. It's used in diffusers to boost energy, in massage oils to refresh the body, and in skincare for its clarifying effects. It’s a go-to oil when you want to invigorate the senses naturally.

Q. What are the side effects of Lime Essential Oils?

While Lime Essential Oil is generally safe when used correctly, undiluted topical application may cause skin irritation, especially under sunlight due to its photosensitive nature (when not steam distilled). Always dilute with a carrier oil. People with citrus allergies or sensitive skin should consult a healthcare provider before use.

Q. Can you put Lime Essential Oil on your face?

Yes, you can apply Lime Essential Oil to the face but only when properly diluted (1–2 drops per 10ml of carrier oil). It helps cleanse pores, reduce oiliness, and brighten skin. Avoid sun exposure after applying as some types of lime oil may increase sensitivity to UV rays.
