Key lime, from Mexico
A burst of citrus sunshine
Lime is the sharpest and most instantly uplifting of the citrus oils. One drop and a room smells like the first five minutes of a holiday: green, zesty and tropical in a way lemon never quite manages.
This is key lime, Citrus aurantifolia, the small intensely aromatic fruit also sold as Mexican or West Indian lime. It is a different species from the Persian limes in a supermarket, and it is the one aromatherapy and perfumery use. Ours is grown in Mexico, its home ground.
Four or five drops in a diffuser is enough. Lime is light and evaporates quickly, so top it up rather than overloading it.
The citrus with no sun rule
Zest for every day
Twelve to fifteen drops in a 500 ml spray bottle makes a kitchen cleaner that smells like a cocktail bar. It is a favourite top note for summer candles and soaps too, and it blends beautifully with peppermint, ginger and lemongrass.
Here is the part most people do not know. Cold-pressed lime is one of the most phototoxic oils there is, which is why lime usually comes with a 12-hour sun warning. Ours is steam distilled, and distillation leaves the furocoumarins behind: our IFRA statement measures bergaptene at under 0.0005% and sets no phototoxicity limit at all.
So this is the lime you can put in a daytime body blend. Dilute to 1 to 2% and patch test, as with any oil.

Yes, we post from our UK warehouse to all EU countries, plus the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Norway, the UAE, Japan, Singapore and more. If your country isn't offered at checkout, email us and we'll see what we can do.
How much is international delivery?
Flat and simple:
- European Union: £8.99
- USA & rest of the world: £11.99
- United Kingdom: free over £40, otherwise £3.99
Will I have to pay customs or import fees?
Possibly, yes, and we'd rather tell you upfront. Orders delivered outside the UK can be charged local VAT, import duty or a courier handling fee on arrival. These charges are set by your country, not by us, and are paid by the customer. They're usually modest for small parcels, but we can't predict the exact amount.
Can I return an order from outside the UK?
Yes, you have 30 days from delivery, as long as the items are unopened and unused (a hygiene rule for oils). Return postage is at your cost, and we refund you in full within 3 to 5 working days of receiving the parcel. Just email us your order number first.
What if something arrives damaged or wrong?
That's on us, wherever you are in the world. Email a photo and your order number to support@ecodrop.co.uk and we'll send a replacement or a refund straight away, and we cover the postage.
